O’Leary trail is one of a kind! Being surrounded by the cinder, lava, and volcanic craters makes for a beautiful hike. Even the views of Mt. Humphreys in the distance made it even better!
I started at about 5:30 am and there was no one else on the trail. It was a very peaceful sunrise walk through the forest and next to the lava.
The first part of the trail is pretty flat, but once you start going up in elevation, the incline isn’t too bad.
The trail seems to be essentially an unpaved road, but very clear and easy to walk on.
10/10 for this beautiful hike!
