Bugs were terrible on the lower mountain less of an issue at the top but still present.
Hike took 11.5 hours, it was 19.46 mi total
It was a great hike, first two miles of the hike and the last two miles on the ascent are pretty tough. If you can get out there early stays cool until about noon, lower mountain is pretty shaded all day.
High creek camp is a great spot for a nice sit down before making it to the top. Its at 5.8miles in and at 9200. Trees start to thin out after that. And altitude really starts to hit at 10000 ft.
