Best air quality day in Central Oregon this week but still some haze from growing Bedrock fire. Clear views of Black Butte Ranch. Trail was in excellent shape and the ascent was a rather consistent 13% grade.  Top half was above the tree line. Many signs on plants/ trees with common and scientific names.  Haze prevented good views of South Sister & Broken top but other peaks had clear view. Spent about 30 minutes at the top.  Word about the road- 4 miles of paved FS roads, 5 miles of washboard-gravel and the last mile was hell on dirt and rocks.  Go slow and your front end and passengers will appreciate it.
