Trail was great! kicking myself for sleeping in (attempted a 4am wake up after a 15 hour work day) but got up and got right to packing, tried for an afternoon start and an evening hike. Couldn’t have been better!

Even in June it was HOT. I had a long sleeve breathable polyester shirt on with a wide brimmed sun hat, my Osprey 2.5 liter water pack, and I brought my Black Diamond poles!

Started around 2:30pm, got to the ski lodge Notch around 4pm, summited around 6:30pm. Took my time to take lots of photos and enjoy the scenery.

The trail past the notch was incredibly windy and almost lost my footing at times. Sections of the trail no wider than my body so be careful on the backbone and beyond.

Hiked down and started getting dark. I think I finished my descent and was back to my car around 9:30pm. All in all just under a 7 hour hike.

This was my 3rd time hiking Baldy, first time solo. Excited to try again this fall!
