From my title, the hike I did may be obvious. There is only one of the So Cal “Six Pack” hikes (that I can think of) in which switchbacks play a prominent role: Mt. Baden-Powell.
It was my second time completing this hike. The switchbacks can make the hike a bit mind-numbing, but I love how the desert comes into view as you get higher.
So why 12 miles? I decided to hike to Big Horn Mine first. It was my first time hiking there and was a good warmup before starting the ascent to Baden-Powell.
Hike four of the “Six Pack” challenge completed!
