Have hiked this before, usually do the loop starting at the falls through ski house and Baldy Bowl – this time went up to the ski lifts and Devil’s Backbone instead. I think this way is slightly easier, but I definitely still struggled a bit! Felt very low energy even though I stocked up on food/etc, and accidentally took a nap at the summit LOL. Started around 5:30am to avoid the heat, so got to see the sunrise. Devil’s Backbone was definitely chilly, but I started to feel the heat on the way down. Took me about 4 hours to summit, 2 hours to get down.
