Arrived at 3am to the Vivian Creek Trailhead, and got ready. It was 48 degrees in the parking lot and I dress in layers. Secured a (Mt. San Gorgonio Elev. 11503) sign I made and set off 345am use head light and a flash light and saw many huge spider and some flying insects along with some bats. The creek water was light and low which made crossing easily doable without getting wet. Light started to break through on the trail around 6am. Stop around 5 miles and ate a meal overlooking back into the canyon and the beautiful color it offered (like no painting or picture could ever offer). The trail was in good condition and ran into campers and hiker with good spirits and energy. Gust of nice cold wind started when sun began to come over the ridge of the mountain. Reach the ridge that oversee Mount San Jacinto. Apply sunblock at this point and followed slightly behind the ridge to were the trail became rocky and scrambled to find a path. Once the it opened up it was a straight shot to a faults summit but slightly behind that one was the actual peak of the Mountain. Saw a patch of snow that still hadn't melted yet. Reach the summit and stayed up there for 3 to 4 hours, lost track of time. While up there I had lunch, a celebration beer, took lots of pictures and just enjoyed and took in all the sight had to provide. Started to head back but went to the Dobbs Peak which I don't recommend. The trail is not managed and easily lost by tree that have fallen over, and over growth of plants over the unmarked path, and had to constantly look at the navigation. Finally made it to the Vivian creek trail path right before dark but got dark shortly after while making it back to the parking lot. A side from taking the Dobbs trail it was an amazing hike!
