I felt so good after hiking Sawmill and after starting so early, I decided to drive another two hours and hike Strawberry Peak the same Saturday. The bugs here were an annoyance. One particular bee was pissed off at me for some reason and dive bombing me for about a 1/4 of a mile. Luckily, no stings. Not too many people on the trail which was nice. The last mile up to the peak (after two false peaks) was a struggle for me after already hiking 8 miles that morning. Made it to the top and coming down wasn't hard other than slipping on one steep area near the top. No injuries. By the last 1/2 mile or so, the bugs were getting to me again and I started getting a cough (thought I swallowed a gnat). By the time I arrived home two hours later, I was cranky which isn't like me after a day of hiking. You guessed it, COVID positive by the next morning. So now I'm extra glad there weren't many people on the trail. Hopefully the young guy who took my photo at the top doesn't get it.
