I was the only hiker on this Friday. But the solitude was made less pleasurable by large amounts of gnats. I figured it would be less in October, but I was very wrong and was waving my arms in front of my face like windshield wipers during that recent hurricane. Other than that, it was a pleasant temperature op there, and I always appreciate being allowed to hike on tribal land.

Hey, I’m planning to do this one tomorrow. Any issues around trail access? AllTrails was saying hikers were being turned back as recently as two weeks ago due to trail damage.
The trail was in fine shape. I could see some recent work had been done on it. So get that permit, and bring a head net (I never bring it, but this time I really would have liked it). Enjoy!
