We did a lollipop hike to summit San Gorgonio. Taking the South Fork Trail and then to Dry Lake and up to the summit. We descended the trail toward Dollar Lake and back to the South Fork Trail. The summit was busy, but we practically had the trails to ourselves. Most hikers must have started at Vivian Creek.
The weather couldn't have been more perfect! We hiked under sunny skies with a gentle breeze. At the summit it was 71 degrees with very little wind. All in all, it was a spectacular day!

Gorgeous views of “Dry” Lake! I see San G got some new signage (peaks notorious for sign stealing)! Was the snowfield as you curve around to Mineshaft Flats still there? It was bad when I took my friend the way you went – it was her 2nd peak. We cross coutried in the kitty litter – cause of the treacherous snow/ice field – up to the corner saddle before the hard left to Mineshaft.
Looks like you had a great day! Also still lots of treefall coming down Dollar towards the creek (the last long switchbacks before the creek)? I may squeeze in a last hike before the snow starts, and that way is my fav!
