Got off to a bumpy start when Google Maps took me down a road that took me to a section that no vehicle could pass. After making a five point turn, I eventually found the parking lot and my hiking buddy.
The hike was overall good! Least favorite part was inhaling bugs. Second least favorite part was the dirt bikes.
We made it to the top and sat at one of the two picnic benches, had some snacks, and wondered if anyone was in the tower. After some time, someone came down and we learned about volunteering to look out for forest fires! He even gave us green cards that make us members of the Ancient and Honorable Order of Squirrels. Mine is on my fridge.
Cool!!!! I didn’t know the Ancient and Secret Order of the Squirrels had a branch on High Point! I have my membership card from Tahquitz in the San Jacintos and thought it was just an Ernie Maxwell thing!
