This was a warmup for the rest of the 6 Pack, and ultimately a successful summit of Mount Whitney on Labor Day. Weather was great. My wife and brother-in-law joined in the fun. The payoff for this relatively easy hike is really great. Looking across the San Gabriels to the snow capped mountains in the distance, just made me itchy for it to melt so we could get out and climb them too.
