Cucamonga Peak was our final peak in the SoCal challenge!  We stayed at manker flats campground the night before (great!) which was about 7 mins from trailhead. Super convenient. The campground at 3:00pm was about half full and by 5(?) was completely full, just FYI. We got to Ice House Canyon trailhead at 5:00am. It was about half full. By the time we ate and left at 6:00am, people had to park down the street (which would be SUPER annoying to come back to). The trail was GORGEOUS. the stream was so pretty and the fall colors are just starting to pop. We did a counterclockwise trail to include Ontario and bighorn peak but we noticed the trail for Cucamonga was maintained the best by far. On a side note, Bighorn was terrible (LOL). The beginning switchbacks were long and shaded so not too hard. The junction before heading to Ontario or Cucamonga is such a nice place to stop and to fuel up. The sun was just coming up and it was magical coming through the trees. The views of Baldy from this trail were great. I honestly preferred that to the city views. When we got to Cucamonga around 3:00pm, there was only one other person up there! The last 2 miles to the car was tough but we agreed that we would for sure do this in a day again!
