We decided that we had to add Mount Timpanogos to our list of completed hikes this season. There's a major storm rolling in today with over a foot of snow expected for tomorrow morning … so yesterday was THE day to do the hike. We made great progress up to the saddle. There was some frozen snow/ice on the trail but nothing slippery and we did not need to use our microspikes. Up on the saddle the wind picked up and the terrain got rocky and steep, with some scrambling required. We made it to the shack and had it all to ourselves! We only met 11 people on the trail. Considering how busy this tends to be in the summer, we were rather surprised. Temps were on the chilly side and hats and gloves were definitely needed. I'd to it again in a heartbeat! The views from the top are stunning!
