This was our third time at Castle Crags, and today was the best time yet. The first two times, the weather was gloomy, hiding some of the views but today, it was there in all of its glory. You get to climb right up close to the Dome and the Crags. So many amazing views, including Shasta. We did some extra exploring just past the trail end as well. A little bit windy today but not bad at all. The trail goes from a nice hike up elevation in the forest and then opens up to amazing views of the Crags. Words just don't do it justice. You have to view this one for yourself! Some of the tail gets a bit rocky, but it's so worth it. Save your lunch/snack for a really nice area overlook that's perfect to sit and enjoy the sea of trees below. We took our time and started earlier so we could just play up top. I can't recommend this trail enough!
