It was a good start, although GPS is telling us to reroute due to road closure. Good for us because the closure was just right after the TH parking and didn’t follow GPS 😜
However, for the first in a long time, I never had altitude sickness but as soon as we reached the bench, almost a mile in, I started to feel very light headed and nauseous. Layed down for a bit until we continued on. It was a dragged but we still able to reach the peak in decent time.
The weather was gorgeous all the way.
I think fall is the best time to summit. With the exception of a big group of hikers, the trail was not as busy than when we normally hike here. We thought that most challengers completed this peak early on.
