Wanted to drive up Los Pinos Road and down to the Espizona Saddle and start from nearby. But as I reached the descent from the lookout tower, I stopped and took a look at the road. While the new tires felt great on the drive-up, the road was too muddy to continue. So, I headed back down to the standard trailhead and started from there.
It was a great hike to the summit. The trail was muddy at points, which confirmed my choice not to drive down. One more peak to go to finish the San Diego Six-Pack of Peaks Challenge
