Drove 1.5 hours from Irvine to the trailhead at earlier morning. Parking was easy. Hit on the trailhead at 7:40am.
Good load of climbing. I brought 2.5 liters water. December temperatures are good for hiking. I didn't consume too much water.
I have to say that hiking is tougher than my age can do. I am glad that I made it.
Around 12pm, I summited the peak. The top is rocky and the metal USGS marker was on the rock. I climbed up for some interesting pictures.
On the way back, I met Bill who was the guy giving me phone taking about 2 weeks ago on the top of the Woodson tail, also known as the Potato Chip. After he summitted, Bill caught up me again when he turned back from the peak. We chatted all that way down to the parking lot. He is 77 years old and is amazing! Bill shared his world wide travel when he was a new college grade more than 55 years ago. I didn't feel the rest part of hike was so difficult as my mind was in Bill's story.
The time back to parking lot just past 3:00pm. Say good-bye to each other, we expect meet again on trail one day.
