Perfect weather for Baldy today! We started at sunrise and took the loop clockwise. Beautiful trail heading up to ski hut. Perfect place for a snack. There was a guy prepping the hut so we got to peak inside. It sleeps like 20 people! After the hut there are a series of steep inclines. Took small steps to keep my pace consistent. Nice spots to stop. On multiple occasions it looks and feels as though you’re almost there… and you’re not. When we finally hit the summit I couldn’t help but let out a happy scream! Wind less than 5mph, warm at summit but cool breeze felt perfect. Could actually hang out up there for a while. We completed the loop by coming down Devils backbone to Baldy lodge. It was nice to end with lunch and a view. The tram ride down was $20 per person so we just took the gentle road down to the parking lot. NOT the trail right under the lift. Overall, I’m glad we went clockwise. I think the other direction would have been too hard on my knees. Our loop was perfect for us!
