Entering from the north (hwy 58) there is about 12 miles of unpaved road as you get closer to the TH. It is rough but passable with caution. Make sure your tires are in good shape. There is a parking lot. No facilities. Hike is nice along a fire road, which then turns into a single-track. Expect rolling hills. Elevation gain to the summit is about 1600’. Elevation gain back to the TH is about 800’. The stats – 17mi, 2395’ elevation gain, 5hrs, 41min, drank 1.5L water, 17oz electrolytes, and a summit sandwich. Happy Trails!
