Absolutely perfect day to summit Mt. Tamalpais. Clocked 14.82 watch miles and 15.7 AllTrails miles on my phone. Running time was 4:25 for a 17:55 pace with 3,360 feet of total ascent.
The first two miles coming up from Stinson Beach were unrelenting ascent, switchbacks and stairs and gnarly-root trail. The next 4 miles were running bliss, rolling soft trails through mountain meadow and redwood forest. The last mile a half or so to the summit was again unrelenting ascent. The final miles of the descent were stunning through fern-drenched redwood forest. In the end, I logged over 40,000 steps and climbed the equivalent of 345 floors.
