Started this trail at the start of the storm in hopes of beating it. Extremely foggy; we were only able to see maybe ten feet ahead of us. There were moments when the headwind was really strong, making the trail tough to ascend. It was about 38ºat the beginning of the trail, and there was a freezing wind chill of 12º. I would recommend packing a rain shell/windbreaker along with a few layers underneath to keep you warm. The terrain begins to become ice and snowy about mile 7. It is still possible to summit, but it would be easier and safer if you had trekking poles and a pair of micro spikes. Nonetheless the view from the summit was beautiful and definitely rewarding despite the intense weather conditions.
