We tackled this one as our second peak this year. A friend from Colorado joined us. To say the least, she wasn’t have a good time. Instant climb plus no tree coverage always adds a level of difficulty for me.
Throughout the hike, I would just find myself giggling. Not that it was “funny.” It was like , “I cannot believe we are doing this one again.”
So hard.
Took breaks . Weather was sunny, warm until we hit the last few miles.
We spent a lot of energy taking on and off our micro spikes. At the top however, the trail went dark because there was several feet of snow.
There was a down tree which totally confused me. At that point, I found myself literally crawling up the embankment just to get to the parking lot. Our second year reaching the peak and once again, no sign was discovered? Located? BUMMER. It was freezing and all I wanted was to get back before dark.
