This was the first of two hikes on Saturday with the other one at Sunrise Peak. It wasn't yet sunrise at around 6:35 but the trailhead parking lot already had a lot of cars. There were still some parking slots closer to the entrance and I chose to park there instead of trying to find closer parking at the trailhead. It was the right decision as there was an event going on that day so the parking slots closest to the trailhead was full. I met up with my hiking partner Lisa who had gotten there earlier and after last minute preparations we were soon on our way. Some hikers used a headlight but I didn't need to. Even that early there were several hikers already on the trail. The sun came up soon while we were heading up and it was already daylight before we got to the first bouldering section. We got to the summit a little after 8:00 AM including short breaks. There were already some hikers at the summit. Due to our early start it wasn't hot. The sky was clear. We took a short break at the summit before heading down. We encountered more hikers coming up on our way down. After a short break at the trailhead we made preparations to go drive to the trailhead for our next hike: Sunrise Peak.
