This was a great icebreaker into the six pack challenge. The conditions were great, lots of sun but cool January temperatures (bring some layers + sun protection)! The hike itself wasn’t hard to navigate and the trail was very well paved making for a little less of an adventure but a great hilly walk accessible to beginner hikers. The hike opens with some signage about mountain lions (we are new to the west coast and the potential wildlife sightings here is a little intimidating)  which motivated us to walk fast than we anticipated. The fields we hiked through were flat and open. Towards the top the wind REALLY picks up so hold on to your snacks! Back at the bottom of the mountain, at the end of the hike, we ran into some friendly horses. Highly recommend having some pie in Julien afterwards! Overall gorgeous hike and a good way to warm the legs up!
