As the morning began, we embarked on our journey up Kendrick Mountain, greeted by the chilly morning air and the rustling of the trees. The initial part of the trail was sheltered by towering ponderosa pines, offering a serene start to our hike. The wind whispered through the branches, creating a symphony of nature's own music as we made our way up the mountain. The burnt-out section of the trail provided a stark contrast, with the sun's rays offering a brief respite from the cold, invigorating our spirits for the climb ahead.

Entering a grove of birch trees, the forest came alive with the rhythmic drumming of a woodpecker, its echoes guiding us upwards. The trail grew steeper, challenging our resolve with each step, but the beauty of the surroundings fueled our determination. Stumbling upon a solitary log cabin, we found solace from the relentless wind, a momentary sanctuary before the final stretch to the summit.

Reaching the peak, we were met with a breathtaking panorama from the fire lookout tower. The snow-capped Humphrey Peak glistened in the sunlight, a majestic sight that made the arduous trek worthwhile. Despite the fierce winds urging us to descend, we savored the fleeting moments at the summit, etching the experience into our memories.

Blue Skies!
