We began the start of the SoCal Six-Pack of Peaks Challenge on June 2, 2024 with the Mount Wilson Summit. I haven’t done this hike since November 2019. I don’t remember this one being so strenuous but I owe that to the lack of sleep from a late night Dodger game and the lack of recent hiking. The weather was on our side because it was cloudy during the most difficult stretches in the beginning. We broke through the clouds towards the end when the heat picked up. I ate a veggie wrap from the Cosmic Cafe and we went to find the Mount Wilson sign to take a photo (I missed this the last time). We walked past the observatory and I think I want to come back for one of the music programs. All in all a nice 15.5 mile hike with some wildflowers, hummingbirds, and a few bugs in the heart of the San Gabriel Valley.
