We had a wonderful two days in the Napa Valley. We spent the first day wine tasting and spent the night at a Calistoga hotel to enjoy the thermal waters. After a restful night sleep, we drove to the trailhead at 8 am to get an early start to avoid the anticipated heat in the afternoon. The short bit of rock scrambling in the beginning of the hike was fun. The trail through the shaded tree area was nice. The fire road was less than inspiring but the views of the Napa Valley made up for the fire road. The summit was a little chilly but our group had a lot of fun taking pictures up at the peak. By the time we started down from the summit it was 11 am so we timed the hike perfectly to avoid the extreme heat of the afternoon. The hike took us a total of 4:40 hours.
