It was a very windy climb, although didn’t seem as bad at the summit. Clouds kept playing peekaboo with the views of the crater, Spirit Lake, Mount Rainier, Mount Hood and Mount Adams. There’s basically full snow before you even leave the forest, with patches of snow starting at the trailhead. Most of the boulder field is covered in snow, though there are several sections exposed if you choose to go that way. The climb is no joke, very slow and steep, but the descent was much quicker thanks to 2000-2500ft of glissading! Be careful when you get to the top and try to look out over the crater, there are lots of crevasses forming. Still got amazing views! Have climbed taller mountains and longer trails, but this one is definitely something else!
