ONT peak was very crowded today. The SoCal hiking FB page had a meet-up, so the parking lot and the peak were full! I arrived at 0620 and had to park pretty far down the road. Ironically there were plenty of spots at 1230 when I left. A lot of folks hiked really early or overnighted up high.

The canyon was in the shade on the way up so not too hot, but the bugs were out. It was hot above the saddle, at the peak, and on the way down. But once the heat comes the bugs hide.

I took the canyon up and back so I could take full advantage of the stream to dunk my hat and cool down.

Overall nice hike, I passed on Big Horn Peak as all the meet-up folks were headed there. I enjoyed a nice bath in the stream once finished!
