Hot day to hike but my group started around 7:40am and luckily had cloud coverage most of the ascent. Some parts along the trail have lots of fist sized rocks, but thankfully no slippery gravel. TONS of cows and little shade, so make sure to pack plenty of water and sunscreen! No water refill stations around. Many casual hikers make this a pretty well trafficked trail. It’s an ongoing climb to the summit, but a great workout! Hiking poles not necessary but recommended and they were very helpful on the descent! Would recommend doing this trail very early in the morning or in the evening when temperatures are cooler. You’ll get lots of sun exposure here so be sure to wear that SPF!
