This was an excellent hike, great practice for other upcoming hikes. Lots of wildflowers blooming. The majority of his hike is in burned area so there is not a lot of shade. We felt like the sun was in our faces going up and coming down. The one spring we passed provided us with cool water for our handkerchiefs and water bottles (filtered of course). We had lunch at the peak where we probably saw the most bugs. Only two other hikers seen the whole day!
