We started a bit late around 7:45am but intended to take the full day to peak. Near the base, it was a bit hot and very buggy but luckily we brought our nets to protect us from any bites. We set up camp at the Halfway Camp, ate a small lunch and went forward. The trail is very well maintained, no real big issues with minimal poison oak, mostly near the creek passings. We got off course a couple of times the last couples miles of the hike where it’s mostly scree, but all paths led to the same destination so no biggie. The temperatures were quite hot but once you crest the breeze felt phenomenal! Given our late start, we ended up hiking back with only a couple hours of daylight left, so be sure to bring a headlamp if you’re going at a leisure pace or aren’t quite sure how you will feel at that elevation. There was plenty of water at each of the campsites, with the last water source being at high creek, so ensure you bring a water filter in case you start running low on a hot day. Altogether, the trip was awesome and the three of us made it to the top and back down without any injuries, SUCCESS!!!
