This is one of my least favorite hikes, too be honest, although the peak is always rewarding. The beginning 2 miles through Icehouse Canyon is a slog and you always need to be on the lookout for snakes (seen quite a few on previous hikes but not this time). The saddle is a perfect spot to stop for lunch before hiking the last 3 to the summit. It was a Monday so we pretty much had the summit to ourselves. The weather was also perfect. Sunny and warm but there was a good breeze, so it never felt too hot. Made the mistake of doing the loop around the summit and summiting from the Cucamonga Trail on the east side, which added an extra mile on. All Trails said this was a 11 mile hike but it’s definitely at least 12. Happy to check this one off the list.
