Amazing hike. Took my buddy and I almost exactly 3 hours. BEWARE – The flies will eat you up. Wear a net hat and/or wear bug spray. Pants are also recommended. The trail itself is relatively easy but quite narrow so your legs will thank you if you opt for pants. I wore shorts and I was just fine though. You can easily get to the small parking area in any vehicle but an SUV or truck would be best due to the bumpiness of the half paved/gravel road. I'd download the area of the trail for offline use just incase you have no cell service. The views up at the top are amazing, I can only image what they look like in the winter without that “lovely” SoCal haze we get in the summer months. There were only 2 other people at the top and we virtually had the trail to ourselves. Overall an excellent hike, just wished we packed bug spray.
