We started our hike late because the Vista Fire foiled our original plan to hike Cucamonga Peak. After driving for about an hour, we reached the Marion Mountain Trail at around 9 am. The temperature at the start of the hike was about 75 degrees. The trail was rocky and had a lot of flies, which were quite annoying. It's important to bring plenty of water and wear sunscreen. The temperature rose to 102 degrees during our hike, but we were fortunate to find areas with a cool breeze and shade. The hike was challenging due to the steep incline, but it gave us a fantastic view from the top. The total hike took us through 13 miles and several spots for breaks. The last time I attempted this hike was during the winter, and we only made it halfway before turning back. It was great to return and complete the trail under different conditions.
