I hiked San Bernardino Peak a few years ago as an overnight backpacking trip, but this time I did it as a day hike. To be honest, I was expecting it to be a lot harder than it was. Maybe this challenge is getting me in better hiking shape! I started at 5:30am and finished around 3pm. Overall I really enjoyed this hike as it has great views all throughout. I even saw another 6-pack challenger along the way, which was nice. At the peak I was joined by a deer and saw three more on the way down. The fires really did a number on this area, but regrowth is happening and I’m excited to see how much better it will look in a few years.
