Took the Poway Lakes trailhead because this is the side that is all dirt trail, the other trailhead is a paved access road. Me no likey. First part is a wide not-quite access path, but soon narrows down to a single track. Crowds at the photo op “Potato chip rock”, but this is not the actual summit. Took a litte snack break at the actual summit, which is an antenna station. If you take the Poway Lakes trailhead, you have to pass “the chip” to get to the summit, and when you take the Hwy 67 trailhead, you will pass the summit on the way to “the chip'. Many hikers look confused at the summit because they can't find “the chip”.
All in all, a really great trail, great conditions, a bit crowded but I've seen worse on other trails.
