The hike itself was a nice, steady hike. However, as Senior Patrol Leader of my troop, I had to take care of the younger scouts who were struggling. Being in the back and going at a slower pace was a lot harder for me as my normal pace would've been a lot faster. Towards the end of the hike, I saw that my group with the younger scouts were a lot behind as the other group from our troop was already done. I had to go home because of personal events, so I decided that I would have to hike the last few miles by myself. The younger scouts were left with some of the adults from our troop. I was able to get down at 6:00 pm and I found out the group behind me came down at 8:00 pm.
