This was my most challenging, difficult and intense hike to date.  The first two miles were not bad, switchbacks that took me around potentially two mountains.   Dont want to leave out the fact that extreme caution needs to be made along those switchbacks due to erosion.

Once I hit the ridgeline is when the real fun began.  The arrow someone made of sticks and rocks at the junction between the switcchbacks and ridgeline really helped.

Multiple false summits, steep scrambles over large rocks (I wore my gym gloves but I highly recommend wearing my full gloves that I left in my backpack lol) finger tips are a bit irritated from gripping all the sand on the rocks.  Mind you, another hiker I ran into told me the scramble wasnt too bad just a steep climb, so in my mind I'm thinking I should be back in less than 5 hrs.  Coming back finding the trail around patches of boulders would take a few minutes.

I think I may have incurred some altitude sickness as I really wanted to take a nap at the summit and was more exhausted than I'd ever been at a summit.  It was in the mid 80's but I really felt the heat as youre exposed nearly 97% of the time, went through almost all of my water (I had a gallon with me).  I also need to work on my endurance training, havent done much running at all in the last 6 months due to my plantar fasciitis, even with hiking shoes designed for arch support and new inserts I still incurred sharp pains in my heals little over a mile before the summit, but pushed through to put the check in the box.

This was my second successful use of AllTrails downloadable maps.  It shows my time and miles but the route/map isnt available; however, the Strava map saved.

When reaching the summit, off to the far left a wooden cross can be seen, once approaching the summit where the sign is, be very cautious as there isnt a lifeline or any kind of barrier from a very steep drop off.

If I did it again, it would have to be in the low 70's (in the mountains), I also need to be more physically conditioned for the next peak.

My only complaint is, there are so many towers within line of site yet extremely sketchy signal (if at all).  I will invest in a GPS that has texting capabilities.  I was sharing my location but it froze for over an hour and my girlfriend called SAR.  I have had much better signal on and off, in much different remote areas prior, but every location is different.  I mean, I get great signal in Visalia, yet horrible signal in San Diego lol.
