First time doing San Gorgonio! It was so hard but so beautiful. Weather for the whole trip was perfect and temperate! Rained on the way up, cloudy second day and temperate on the third day. Bugs at the beginning were a nuisance but then disappeared past Halfway Camp.
Saturday started later than anticipated around 0900-1000. No parking next to trailhead but plenty past the picnicking area! Hiked up to High Creek. Plenty of water. It rained on the way up! Altitude started bothering me as didn’t sleep that well.
Sunday: got up and headed up to the summit thinking it’d be easier than the day before. How does 3.3mi feel like 6?! Made it to the top and was so happy! Elevation is something to be aware of – started getting a headache up there and had to really take it slow. Saw some falling stars! So peaceful!
Monday: packed up camp and headed down! Warmer but got down pretty quickly! Slept better the night before which made all the difference!
Overall, hardest hike I’ve done so far but probably the most beautiful!!
