This hike was a slog! Definitely made my legs jello. Nearly 5,000 feet of elevation gain. The forest seemed to go on forever. Mile 4-6 were BRUTAL with nearly 2,000ft of elevation gain in a couple of miles. The last mile was completely socked in with clouds and fog. So not much to observe at the observatory. It was also pretty chilly at the summit. Thankfully, I had at least brought a light long sleeve thermal. Definitely glad to check this one off.
