With most of my remaining SoCal 6-Pack peaks closed, I opted to knock out one of my remaining San Diego 6-Pack peaks. I started early, as the day was going to be warm, and I am familiar with the lack of shade. Took a few breaks on the way up. A light breeze usually kept the bugs away and the oaks hade started to drop their acorns.
At the summit, I chatted with the gentleman staffing the tower, and he awarded me the Order of the Squirrel! After a snack and a nice break, I headed down. Ran into another challenger making his way up. He lost his Garmin and asked me to keep an eye out for it. Sadly, I did not spy it along the trail. Hopefully, it was just misplaced in his truck. The descent was fine, except for a pain in the left hip that was annoying. One more peak to climb to finish the San Diego 6-Pack, will be Hot Springs Mountain or El Cajon….?
