I would say a must do hike. We drove early from Bay Area to Napa (2 and half he drove one way) starting the hike at 7am.

Reason to do this hike, we took this chance to plan a hike far away. Everyone had spoken about amazing views and we wanted to not miss it for this reason. But plans don’t always work as planned😜

The day we hiked there was prediction for rain, it was cloudy and misty,  I love being in the clouds while hiking. So we walked through clouds, mist, lots of headwind and had no views. I timing worked perfect, we finished the hike at 1pm and it started raining as we got back in the car. There are no toilets anywhere so after the long drive it was bad to not have any facilities. Also there are no directions or trail markers so coming back we missed the fire road joining the uneven trails thankfully were able to retrace our steps before adding too much mileage.
It’s overall an easy hike, we enjoyed every bit of it, from the drive to the terrain and all the chit chat.
We celebrated our hike by a delicious lunch in Calistoga downtown. And then we driver back happily ever after .
