We took a little time off due to summer, and well, life. But this was a great hike to get back into the 6 peak challenge.
We started our hike at the Mount Wilson Trailhead, in the parking lot of The Cosmic Cafe. We followed this trail from AllTrails: Mount Wilson Toll Road on AllTrails
https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/california/mount-wilson-toll-road-2?sh=9uyxmg
The route on the navigation will take you down the trail to the toll road. The first mile or so is narrow, rocky and can be slippery. You'll then get to the toll road, which is wider. When you get to the end of the AllTrails route, you can choose to continue on the Mt. Wilson Trail (to the left) or the Mt. Wilson Toll Road (straight/rightish) if you want additional mileage. We continued on the Mount Wilson Toll Road for a bit longer. This road is mostly exposed to the sun but will give you some beautiful views of the mountains and the city.
When you decide to turn around, remember that what comes down must go back up. The climb back up is intense, but what a feeling of accomplishment when it's done! Peak #3 done!
