We wanted to knock this guy out before the snow came… our second hike on the SoCal pack. We knew it was going to be long. It was long and holy moly… another 5am killer. Go early. Parking fills up and it’s easier to hike before the temp rises. Also it’s super annoying as to what the temp will be. We looked at a dozen web sites and they all read different. San Gorgonio is different at the top then at the base.

the week before we went to do San Jacinto and came in shorts and normal hiking gear and had to give up 5hrs of drive time and not hike because it was 40°. This week we brought a bunch of different clothes so that no matter what we would be ready for the temps and conditions and be able to hike.
