This was a beautiful way to finish up the Six-Pack challenge! I started on the Azalea Glen loop and took that trail to the peak. It was cold but with clear skies and lots of sun it was actually very pleasent out. I anticipated nice fall colors, and also got a little bit of ice and snow! I didn't see very many people on the trail at the time I started, but I hung out at the peak for about an hour just enjoying the views and the chilly weather and by that time, there were a lot more people coming and going. The views at the top are some of the best in SD county in my opinion. On the descent, I took the Burnt Pine/West Mesa trails to get some different views. Not quite as beautiful as the Azalea Glen trail, but still lots to appreciate- fall foliage, wildlife, and it takes you through more of the large pines up near the peak which was a really pretty portion of the trail. This route is also much less traveled if you're looking to get away from some of the more crowded areas. Overall, I'd say this was one of my favorites of the challenge!
