Black Mountain

Completed the 6 peaks challenge with this hike to black mountain. We parked at lot 1. We got there at 9:30 am and the lot was full but only had to wait for 5 minutes for a spot to open up. There’s a bathroom there.  Took the Stephen Arbors trail then at mile 4, turned left at the sign that leads to the black mountain summit. It took us 3 hours to hike up the peak, 6.3 miles. First 4 miles is wide dirt path then narrows. Has periods of steepness which made it challenging. Mile 5 and 6 was slightly technical. Not easy to spot the little plaque on the rock at the peak.  It’s not obvious.
