Trail was in great condition even with recent rain. Ground was a little sticky but not muddy. The woman working at the visitor center was really helpful and gave us a printed map to go along with what we had from the Social Hikers app. It was a cool and heavy fog morning and we thought we’d be cold but ended up generating a lot of heat on the trail and the sun quickly burned off the fog. Trail can be strenuous in parts, especially closer to the top. We intentionally took a harder route in one part on the way up. The route back on the fire roads was much better than taking the steep single track.
