After an hour plus drive, my daughter and I arrived at the Mitchell Canyon Staging Area. It was the day after Thanksgiving and was a cold, clear morning as we began.  I really enjoyed the steep single track to the top of Eagle Peak.  Pretty views from the top and was nice to take our first break there. Continued down and up a few small ridges until you reach the trail transition. The change from more single track to fire roads was less interesting to me but the steep incline continues on.  The trail was in good shape and came across cold sections with ice/frost on the ground. The views at the top are spectacular and worth the climb. Next time, we will plan for lunch at the top. Unfortunately, we were pressed for time so started back down without much rest as we weren't sure how long it would take.  The moving time for us was 5 and a half hours. We both really enjoyed the hike and look forward to doing it next year with even stronger legs.
